Columbus Museum of Art Wedding - Best Wedding Venues in Columbus Ohio

If ever there was a couple to ask for advise on how to have the most amazing wedding day at one of the best wedding venues in Columbus, Ohio, it's Carly and Andrew. They got married at the beautiful St. Brigid of Kildare Church then hosted the most fun and lively reception at the elegant Columbus Museum of Art.

This venue has long been one of my favorites, and not just for it's great location in the heart of downtown Columbus, Ohio. The space just sets a tone - and one that guests really turn up for! It just feels extra special with it's stately elegance filled with oil paintings and sculptures mixed with an approachable modern aesthetic all perfect for a wedding day!

Their day was visually beautiful of course, with gorgeous settings and elegant style choices, but what made it so special was that it truly felt so rooted in their presence with one another. Sure, there were LOTS of photos captured as you see here, but it never felt like a performance. They were just truly focused on the moments together throughout the entire day – with each other and their beloved family and friends. THAT sums up the best advice I could ever give to any couple planning their wedding. When you are having fun and not sweating the small stuff, you will have genuine photographs you will love forever.

Is there really anything more iconic than a black and white bridal portrait with a windswept veil?

I just loved this mother-daughter dynamic. They both just light up the room and you can't help but smile bring around them. Truly the kindest women too! I'm so lucky that I get the honor of meeting so many wonderful people in this career. What a privilege it is to get to witness and capture photographs of these special moments that will form their family legacies.

Carly is just beaming with excitement and joy as she does a first look with her bridesmaids and the mothers.

The proudest mothers looking on!

Andrew had his own first look moment with Carly's sweet sisters! The mutual love between the families is just so evident.

Ok, time for Carly and Andrew to see each other! I am always a big fan of a couple doing a "first look" together on their wedding day ahead of the ceremony. It can really make the rest of the day run a bit more smoothly.

The sweetest reactions!

This church and it's gorgeous stained glass windows hold personal sentimental value to Carly as her beloved late grandfather either built or designed them. So special!

Time for the ceremony! I love this image of Carly and her father get ready to walk down the aisle together.

I do, I do! We did it!

The grand exit from the church is always a favorite joyous moment to capture!

After some formal family portraits at the church, it's off to celebrate in the limo with their besties!

After capturing a few portraits outside in the gorgeous sunshine around the museum, we headed inside to their favorite gallery so they could exchange some private vows.

Such a sweet intentional moment together.

Now onto the cocktail hour! I have photographed many events at the Columbus Museum of Art over the years, and this scene inside Edwards Court never ceases to stop me in my tracks. It's simply timeless elegance with the major wow factor. It really is just one of those spaces that can stand on it's own.

Just before the guests were welcomed into the main reception space, Carly and Andrew got a preview and private quiet moment to take in the space, and practice their dance together.

Moments later, the wedding party got the party started with introductions.

Andrew and Carly sure do know how to make an entrance! That is a perfect dip!

Now for a surprise the couple definitely didn't see coming – but will remain a highlight of the day for them forever. The couple are HUGE fans of the Columbus Crew soccer team, so the maid of honor coordinated a flash mob performance of a tradition shared among avid Crew fans. They sing a modified version of Elvis Presley's "Wise Men Say" (Can't Help Falling in Love)" with arms around each other while swaying side to side, changing the lyrics to "take my hand, take my whole life too, but I can't help falling in love with Crew".

The things I loved about this incredible wedding day are endless, but I have to say that these candids of pure joy are among my favorite images captured from the entire day. There is nothing fake or scripted about these moments of the celebratory bliss they shared with each other and all of their beloved family and friends.

A special shout out to Matt Ferree of Seamless Sounds who did an outstanding job creating (and maintaining) an amazing energy throughout the evening as deejay. The dancefloor was packed and full of joy the entire evening! These photos are proof of the epic celebration. A good time was most definitely had by all!

Thank you SO much to Carly and Andrew for trusting me with capturing your wedding day! I loved every minute of it!
