What a gorgeous day it was for Julie and Manjul’s wedding at St. Mary’s Church in German Village and gorgeous reception in the Palmhouse at the Franklin Park Conservatory. Though it started out a bit rainy (just enough for a little good luck), the clouds cleared shortly after their ceremony and left us this stunning sunset just in time to create some amazing portraits.
Julie had such a beautiful vision for their special day and did such a wonderful job pulling together all the details. Their attire was very classic, but the flowers and details carried subtle nods to a tropical theme, which was quite fitting for a wedding reception at the Franklin Park Conservatory’s Palm House.
These monogrammed purses for the bridesmaids were such a thoughtful and unique gift idea.
They got the day started at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Columbus – a place i’ve shot many times and I always love it! The suites are roomy and great for hanging out with your besties and preparing for the big day ahead.
Julie’s sister was her matron of honor – I just love this image of getting her wedding gown.
This gown had so many beautiful and delicate details.
Could Julie possibly be more stunning? I love these simple window light portraits in the hotel room where she was getting ready.
Just look at how the sun was pouring in through the stained glass behind the bride and her dad.
He couldn’t be happier to see his soon-to-be wife!
Capturing genuine smiles and joy is my favorite thing! Just look at these two beaming with happiness!
Congrats to the newlyweds!
The gorgeous glowing sunset arrived just in time for us to create some stunning portraits around the Conservatory. This is the type of light you dream about and hope for with every wedding – we got so lucky!
It’s so nice having some quiet time alone together (and your photographer! ha ha) on your wedding day – everything goes by so fast you have to take a moment to let it all soak in. My favorite time to do this, if possible, is always shortly before sunset.
As the sun continued to set, they made their way back to the Palm House for their grand entrance to get the party started! Meanwhile, guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside on a terrace overlooking the Bride’s Garden.
This cool tropical themed cake with a banana leaf motif was perfect for the palm house.
The Palm House was breathtaking!
I’ll wrap this post up with one of my favorite images of the day. They just look totally and completely immersed in the moment together!
